Time to Catch-up (AGAIN)!

It has been a long time since I have posted! The end of the school year was busy and summer was too. Now we are back home, Jacob and Allie are back in school (Emma and Gracie start next week), and I will try to catch-up on some blogging!

Chewy

It took some convincing for Emma and Gracie to believe it is the same dog!

Honor Roll

Gracie and Emma both made the honor roll for 3rd quarter!

When Jacob started getting teeth, he had an extra tooth in the front. They all came in at the same time. When he had his first set of x-rays they told us that the teeth were fused together, but his permanent teeth were normal and not connected. He also doesn't have any extra permanent teeth.

Allie on Two Wheels

No More Training Wheels!!!

Over spring break Allie decided she wanted to try to ride without training wheels. A couple of times around the park and she had it down!! She was SO excited, she kept saying again, again! We are super proud of you Allie!

She had a very good week, she also learned how to tie her shoes all by herself!

She is growing up so fast, it is amazing to watch her learn new things!

Bakersfield

After the Angry Birds took first place they were scheduled to play in the regionals in Bakersfield. They had three games scheduled for the first day. They played well, but lost all three of their games. The girls had a fun time and Emma and Gracie were especially excited to stay in the hotel for another night and swim in the pool that was 60 degrees!

For Dr. Seuss week the kids were supposed to wear crazy ties and or glasses.

Book Report Project

Alaska's Gold Rush

Gracie has had to do a book report almost every month of school so far. This particular project is on a book called Alaska's Gold Rush. She had to pick a book on an actual event in history. She had to pick one scene and recreate it. After the town Dawson hadn't had any eggs for two years, a man finally made it there with live chickens. The crowd that gathered to watch the first egg be laid in Dawson was so large that the mounted police had to come and keep order. After the egg was laid it sold for $5 at auction. This was back in the 1800's when you could get a dozen eggs for 4 cents!

The Angry Birds - January 2012

The Angry Birds

The first girls team from Rosamond to take first place in the AYSO playoffs for the High Desert area! Rosamond soccer has been going on for 19 years now, this was a cool tournament! The girls won all 5 of their playoff games with 4 of them being shutouts (the other team didn't score).

Way to go Angry Birds!

(a little side note, a couple of years ago a girls team got

4th place over all, the only two girls teams to place in the tournament

for Rosamond, and Emma was on that team too! Yes, I am bragging a little!)

Community Fire

Jacob has had a cold for a week or so now. He was frustrated that he can't breathe very well, so I told him that I was going to put a humidifier in his room. He got a puzzled look on his face and asked how I was going to do that. I told him that I just put water in it and plug it in and that is all. He still seemed confused and asked where the fire would be. I said "what fire?" He said "the community fire, you are going to build a community fire in my room!"

He was very relieved that I wasn't building a fire in his room!!!

Student of the Month - November 2011

The awards ceremony is done at 7:30 in the morning, outside. This was December.

He was freezing! It was SO cold, I don't know why they do it like this, but it bugs me!

Yesterday Jacob was talking about Disneyland. He said, "Disneyland is not the happiest place on Earth mom, home is the happiest place on Earth! But Disneyland is the funnest place on Earth!"

Funny Girl

Allie was opening a present on Christmas. She got so excited and said, "WOW, I have wanted one of these my whole life! Thank you so much, I love it!" One of the other kids asked her, "do you know what it is?" Allie replies, "No, what is it?"

FYI - It was a bank that keeps count of the change you put in it.

Kids Say the Darndest Things!

Jacob and Allie were discussing Santa Claus. Allie asked where Santa lives and I told her at the North Pole. Allie asked how we get to the North Pole and Jacob replied, "I think you go South."

Happy Anniversary

14 years

Michael and I went to dinner for our anniversary. The best
part about that was when we got home the kids had done a fantastic
job cleaning the house for us, it looks amazing!

Chewbacca

 Meet the newest member of our family. A couple days before Halloween we went to Target and a man was selling this little guy. His name is Chewbacca, we call him Chewy. He is part Shih-Tzu part toy poodle. I know we already have two dogs, but this is the kind of dog I wanted before we got the other two. He doesn't shed and he won't get very big, I just couldn't resist! He is a playful little puppy and we just adore him!
